Millions of individuals are taking full advantage of the Internet these days. No big deal,I would say, given all the options available to make an extra buck or two. Some even make the decision to earn a living completely from home. It is a big ask to retain your job even in big companies. You simply never know when it might be your turn to go. Quite naturally you will turn to the “make money online business” bandwagon. There are many alternative choices. Some people choose to start their very own Internet business, which can likely be ran from their home. While others dabble in adsense and make cash off of daily web traffic. Believe it or not, there is a great deal of money to be made this way.

Before you begin the quest, you should acquaint yourself with the pitalls. Along with all the wonderful options at your fingertips, there are scams galore. There are so many con artists around. They will present a great sales copy about making money online. Virtually all of them will tell you how much can be made on the web if you do this and this, and then they proceed to pitch a product they’re selling. This is where you have to stop and think for a moment. If they can really make so much cash doing what they’re encouraging you to do, then why are they spending their time and effort pitching something to you? Wouldn’t they be off making money online themselves? Instead they’ve chosen to sell a gimmicky product, which basically just amounts to some information. Obviously they weren’t doing to well.

A sure sign of scam is a guarantee about earning big time. You can attain the crucial information you need for starting an online business, building websites and earning adsense revenue, or selling products via auctions, just by scouring the web. It’s all free. Begin by contemplating how you want to start making money online and what aspect of web-business you’d excel at.

If you blog for business but fail to incorporate the appropriate techniques, you might just be losing out on boatloads of precious targeted traffic… to yourself!

Just like its kissing cousins article marketing, online networking and link exchanging, blogging has become a major traffic generator, brand builder and marketing device. For this reason, millions of internet business owners, in addition to publishing content-rich websites, opt to nick their niche with topical chatter that streams from their blogs and ripples outward to an ever-growing audience of readers.

Indeed, the Blogosphere is a thriving ecosystem unto itself, with its own secret tunnels, members-only channels and scenic side paths worth exploring. RSS feeds, tagging and pinging will help you make a bigger ripple in the blog pond and establish a loyal following of readers, fans; and most importantly, customers. So if you don’t blog, you’re essentially cutting yourself off from a highly profitable market segment. And that’s just plain silly.

But even sillier is the blogger who directs traffic AWAY from his own website. Sure, posting your thoughts can easily make you a blog prophet of your niche. But what good is having blog disciples if you forgot to show them the way to your website?

Remember…? Your website?

If you really want to know where traffic is headed after they make a pit-stop at your blog, then it’s time to take a cold, hard look at yourself through the eyes of the bumbling surfer. This person just landed on your blog from outer space because they “hit” on one of your keywords. They likely have no idea who you are. So, what do they see as they gaze along your intersection of Blog Town?

If you answered, “High quality, professional articles authored by me and my colleagues,” that’s pretty good. If you said, “An insightful discussion about current topics of concern in my niche,” that’s also commendable. If you responded, “Compelling graphics to help my blog stand out in the crowd,” that’s another smart strategy indeed. But here’s the rub: articles, discussions and graphics just aren’t enough.

To direct traffic from your blog to your revenue-generating website requires the constant application of four strategic elements:

1. Branding
2. Links
3. Keywords
4. Calls to action

1. Branding. Add instant branding to your blog by publishing your company logo and/or tagline in the top left corner. Why top left? It’s the first place the eye travels to and it’ll still be visible as your reader scrolls down. Remind your blog guests of who you are by publishing your logo (or, say, the logo of your ezine) every so often in your blog posts. Trust me; you’d be unpleasantly surprised to know how many loyal readers of your blog have no idea what your website looks like because they’ve never even BEEN there. So, get that logo out in plain view and start building mental associations which lead to future clicks and customer orders.

2. Links. Think you added links? Let’s take a look now. Scroll down and review your last five blog posts. Is there a link to your own website on every entry… or a link to someone else’s instead? You MUST add a “signoff” line after every post you write, and include your link. Also, definitely include links to your website wherever you placed your logo. By linking to specific pages of your website; i.e. http://Wordfeeder.com/services.htm, you’re building page rank for your entire website and not just the homepage, and therefore helping to boost your visibility on the search engines.

3. Keywords. Ah, keywords. They’re the secret weapon of every *real* web copywriter. Many published authors who turn to blogging fail to realize the power of the keywords. Keywords bring HITS and CLICKS to your website. Hits are word matches between you and the people who are searching for what you have. So, even if you have a vocabulary that would put Ralph Waldo Emerson to shame if he were alive to read your blog, you MUST add popular keywords. Use keywords in your blog post titles. Try to begin each post with a highly popular keyword phrase. Most importantly, add keyword links to your blog that point back to various pages of your website.

4. Calls to action. Every so often, put that stream of blogging consciousness on pause, and remind your reader of what to do. Did you post an in-depth article about, say, blogging today? Then tomorrow, publish a short ad in your blog about your blog services and tell your readers to “Click here to put your blog duties in the hands of an experience professional!” (Make that line a live link that leads back to the ‘blog services’ page of your website.

Also, take a gander at the perimeter of your blog. See those logos and relevant images into links to the pages of your website? Don’t beat around the bush or make your reader play guessing games. Just TELL THEM TO CLICK. A simple, friendly suggestion snaps your guests out of their semi-comatose state and guides them to take action. A gentle push is all it takes. So DO add those calls to action before they get distracted and go seek out your competitor!

I hope that after reading this you have a strong understanding as to why it’s not enough to just write and publish blog entries. It’s your civic duty to aggressively drive traffic from your blog to your website. (Okay, so I’m stretching the truth a bit.) But if you want to be a successful business blogger, then the strategy detailed above isn’t optional; it’s mandatory.

Log into your blog right now and start tweaking. With a little help, it will soon become the gateway to golden moneymaking opportunities; your business website!

I didn’t know how good it could be until I opened a new account with….

I had been limping along for a couple of years before I made my move. I was making money online but I was really doing too many time consuming tasks that I really didn’t want or need to be doing.

The learning curve was huge and it didn’t need to be. You see I tried to go the cheap route and I ended up spending time with tasks that were not relevant to my revenue model.

How much is your time worth?

Is there a big difference between $3.00 a month and $7.00? Yes at $3.00 dollars a month you miss out on more family time and revenue because you spend more of your time doing non productive tasks. Heck I blow more than $7.00 on coffee!

The difference is $4.00 a month WOW and that $4.00 a month investment turned into more profits and additional time to enjoy what I enjoy most my loved ones. Profits and time a great combination.

I come from a technical background. But after the move I realized that I didn’t need to work so hard at the hosting part of my business

  • The ease of servicing is very refreshing.
  • The pricing is great.
  • The uptime is great.
  • The available options are great.
  • Unlimited add on domains (when you grow you have the room)

Just having piece of mind and additional options to run my business make the pricing even more valuable. I now spend my time on more important events family, sharing with others and revenue building activities. I pay about $7.00 a month; well I pay by the year!

I host a several domains and now I can add more, my account comes with unlimited add on domains. More business more fun!

I know there are many different options out there for hosting and I will give MyHosting a HIGH rating. For the price I feel you can’t beat them.

My blogs are up and running and the setup was extremely easy. A couple of click and they were done. Blogs are fun and powerful tools. Do you have one you should?

Hosting has really showed me what a great hosting service is all about.

I only regret one thing I should have found them sooner.

Feel free to check out Best Web Hosting

This coupon was current at the time that I posted this use it and put your business on the fast track Coupon Code: hgc25. I saved a little under $10.00 using it.

After you buy at the Best Web Hosting come back and rate it for others.

Lots Of Traffic Resources& SEO Resources& Blogs On Blogging05 Jul 2007 06:19 am

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the act of improving the amount and caliber of traffic to a internet website from search engines via “normal” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Frequently, the earlier a website is presented in the search results, or the higher it “ranks”, the more searchers will visit that website. SEO can also covet different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As a marketing program for increasing a website’s pertinence, SEO considers how search algorithms work and for what the masses search. SEO efforts may involve a website’s coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing bots from fully spidering a website. Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique content to a website, ensuring that content is easily indexed by search engine robots, and making the website more appealing to users. Another class of techniques, known as “Black hat” SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm search engine user experience. Search engines look for websites that employ these techniques and may remove their positions from their index.

“SEO” can also refer to “search engine optimizers”, a term adopted by a consortium of advisors who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clientele, and by workers who perform SEO offerings in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone offering or as a part of a broader marketing initiatiave. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a website, SEO tactics may be incorporated into internet website development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe internet website designs, menus, content management systems and shopping carts that are easy to optimize.

This article will cover one of the unique methods of getting traffic to a blog that doesn’t work for regular sites. Remember that every blog is a web-site, but not every web-site is a blog. My top methods of getting traffic to a web-site are still my top methods of getting traffic to a blog. Those include: article marketing, link building and content creation/ranking factors.

But blogs are a special breed of web-site. There are additional methods of getting new visitors to your blog that are very effective. The first one I played with was linking to others. For your blog marketing efforts to work, you must understand that bloggers are part of a community. Those of us old-timers on the ‘net remember when the entire ‘net was a small, close-knit community… when it was OK to send an email telling others in your topic area that you just set up a site and would like a link on their site.

That isn’t what I’m suggesting with the blog community. The days of sending even a personal email to someone you haven’t met are nearly over. The spam problem has made that more and more difficult. However, it is still OK and still rather expected that you introduce yourself when you come into a community. It is also a good idea to let your new community know that you are a friendly guy and are willing to help out in the community.

This post will tell about one way to do that when you enter the blogosphere. First, you should find your neighbors. The Alexa toolbar is going to help you find out who the leaders are in your new community. Start by searching for “______ blog” on Google, Yahoo or your favorite search engine. Fill in the blank with the topic of your blog. Take a look at the blogs you see.

Do you like them? Good; these are leaders in your new community. Link to them in your blog roll. Read them daily to find out what is going on in your community. Do you not like them? No problem. Don’t link to them then. Don’t read them. Don’t introduce your visitors to them. It isn’t required that you like everyone in your new community, but you do want to be a part of the community you now live in…

Now as you read those blogs daily, notice their blog rolls (links they have to other blogs in your community). Go visit them. This is where the Alexa toolbar comes in. You will find some new leaders (those with blogs showing less than 100,000 on your Alexa toolbar). Check out their blog and if you like it… add it to your own blog roll.

I recently moved to a town of about 300 way up in the top of the Utah mountains. It was a new community. I had never lived in a rural area before, so it was critical for me to go through this exact same exercise as I became a part of my new community up here in the mountains. Sure; it didn’t involve Alexa or linking to others… but the concept is the same. When you enter a community and want to be a part of that community, get out there and get to know people. This is one way to do that in the blogging community.

I now have a hundred or so links from those in the blogging community after just a couple of months. From those links, I have over 600 daily visits and over 100 loyal readers who come to read my blog almost every day.

Did I ask for any of those links? Nope. Just like they didn’t ask me for the links I gave them. Do I have 100 outbound links? Nope. A lot of those links came in without me linking to them. As I get the chance, I go and check out their blog and if I like it… I give them a link. If I don’t like that blog for whatever reason; I don’t include it in my blog roll. It’s not always a tit for tat link exchange.

Some of you may be confused at this point about how my outbound links became inbound links without any other action. You may be confused about why I called this article “Getting Blog Visitors” when I have only talked about how to send my visitors to others by linking to them. OK; let me go into why this uniquely works very well on blogs, but not on other web-sites.

First, of all… I use Wordpress. It is the fastest growing blogging software out there. I’m not sure of the features of other blogging software, but I know the follow applies to Wordpress. When I log in to my control panel to write a blog post, I am given a page that shows a number of blog stats. One of the most prominent parts of those stats is the number of inbound links… AND a list of those who recently linked to me.

When you see that a blog called “Mattress Cleaners” just linked to you… can you ignore that? I can’t. I’m immediately distracted… and what do I do? I click on it. I go and check out that Mattress Cleaner blog. They just got another reader (at least for that day). If they were a quality blog that was actually relevant to the blog community of my own blog (and they aren’t)… they would get a link in my blog roll so that I could check them out periodically.

The same thing is possible with non-blog web-sites. When you link to a site and send them traffic, that shows up in their referrer logs. However, a lot of webmasters don’t look at their logs or stats. Those who do may use stat software that doesn’t even show referrers. They may only focus on traffic and not where it comes from.

However, most bloggers DO see when someone links to them. It is right in their face when they login to make a new post. All you need to do to let someone know that you have moved into their blog community is to link to them. BTW, it not only introduces you… it lets them know that you are friendly and you like their part of the blog community you just entered. Don’t be surprised when they link back or even write a post about your blog.

It’s that simple.

James D. Brausch runs a fairly new blog (less than 3 months old) that is already ranking in the top 30,000 on Alexa. Check out his blog here:
